Duplex Pipe

Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe offers a perfect balance of strength, corrosion resistance, and durability, making it a preferred choice for industrial, offshore, and chemical applications.
With multiple grades—lean duplex, standard duplex, and super duplex—engineers can select the most cost-effective and corrosion-resistant solution for their projects.

Duplex Stainless Steel Pipe is a high-strength, corrosion-resistant pipe that combines the advantages of austenitic and ferritic stainless steels.
Its dual-phase microstructure (approximately 50% austenite, 50% ferrite) provides superior mechanical strength, excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking, and high resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, especially in chloride-rich environments.

Duplex pipes are widely used in chemical, petrochemical, marine, oil & gas, and pulp & paper industries, where both strength and corrosion resistance are critical.

Main Grades of Duplex Stainless Steel

1. Standard Duplex (UNS S31803 / S32205)

  • Chromium (Cr): 22–23%

  • Nickel (Ni): 4.5–6.5%

  • Molybdenum (Mo): 3.0%

  • Nitrogen (N): 0.14–0.20%

  • Applications: Offshore platforms, chemical tanks, heat exchangers, pressure vessels

2. Super Duplex (UNS S32750 / S32760)

  • Chromium (Cr): 24–26%

  • Nickel (Ni): 6–8%

  • Molybdenum (Mo): 3–5%

  • Nitrogen (N): 0.24–0.32%

  • Applications: Oil & gas pipelines, desalination plants, chemical reactors, offshore subsea components

3. Lean Duplex (UNS S32101 / S32201)

  • Chromium (Cr): 21–22%

  • Nickel (Ni): 1.5–2.5%

  • Molybdenum (Mo): 2.0–2.5%

  • Nitrogen (N): 0.08–0.14%

  • Applications: Piping in wastewater treatment, chemical tanks, low-cost corrosion-resistant systems

4. Other Specialty Duplex Grades

  • UNS S32550, S32615 – Super duplex variants for extreme environments

  • UNS S32707 – High-strength, corrosion-resistant offshore applications
