Types of Stainless Steel Processing Equipment

Stainless steel processing equipment can be classified into two main categories: shearing equipment and surface treatment equipment.

Shearing Equipment:

Surface Treatment Equipment:
- Cold Rolling Equipment: Used for processing thinner stainless steel.
- Hot Rolling Equipment: Used for processing thicker stainless steel.

Distinguishing Stainless Steel Surface Grades

Stainless steel surfaces can be categorized based on their appearance and finishing processes:

Original Surface:
- This is the surface after hot rolling or pickling.
- Typically used in industrial tanks or chemical equipment.
- Thickness usually ranges from 2.0mm to 8.0mm.
Blunt Surface:
- Achieved through cold rolling, followed by heat treatment and pickling.
- The surface appears silvery white with a softer texture.
- Suitable for deep stamping applications, such as automotive components and water pipes.
Matte Surface:
- Created by cold rolling, followed by heat treatment, pickling, and fine rolling.
- The surface has increased brightness, making it easier to polish and smoother after abrasive friction.
- Commonly used in building materials and tableware.
Coarse and Fine Sand Surface:
- Coarse Sand: Offers good glossiness with thick, discontinuous lines. Ideal for interior and exterior building materials, home appliances, and kitchen products.
- Fine Sand: Provides a similar gloss but with finer texture stripes. Suitable for building materials, electrical appliances, kitchen utensils, baths, and food equipment.
Silky Surface:
- Achieved by grinding with a polishing belt of the appropriate grain size.
- Mainly used for architectural decoration, such as elevator panels or building doors.
Bright Surface:
- Produced by cold rolling, annealing, and final smoothing to achieve a highly reflective, mirror-like finish.
- Mostly used for decorative materials, kitchen utensils, and home appliances.
