China's Net Stainless Steel Exports Increase in June-Teda Metal

Pada bulan Jun, China’s General Administration of Customs released statistics on the import and export of stainless steel and key raw materials. Notably, net exports of stainless steel increased, despite a decrease in both imports and exports on a month-to-month basis. Imports of scrap stainless steel also saw a decline.

Import Statistics

June Imports:
- Total stainless steel imports were 131,300 tan, down by 43,100 tan (24.72%) compared to May.
- Year-on-year, this represents an increase of 13,200 tan (11.16%).
- Imports from Indonesia were 108,100 tan, a decrease of 39,900 tan (26.96%) from May, but an increase of 16,800 tan (18.4%) compared to June last year.
January to June Imports:
- Total imports reached 1.1078 juta tan, naik oleh 265,000 tan (31.44%) year-on-year.
- Imports from Indonesia were 956,100 tan, an increase of 313,400 tan (48.76%).

Export Statistics

June Exports:
- Stainless steel exports stood at 452,800 tan, a reduction of 4,900 tan (1.06%) from May.
- This marks an increase of 109,500 tan (31.89%) from June last year.
January to June Exports:
- Total exports amounted to 2.3648 juta tan, naik oleh 325,900 tan (15.99%) from the same period last year.

Net Export Figures

June Net Exports:
- Net exports reached 321,600 tan, an increase of 38,400 tan (13.56%) from May.
- This represents a year-on-year increase of 96,400 tan (42.80%).
January to June Net Exports:
- Total net exports were 1.257 juta tan, an increase of 60,900 tan (5.09%) from the same period last year.

Scrap Stainless Steel Imports

June Imports:
- Scrap stainless steel imports were 6,730 tan, a decline of 3,300 tan (33.01%) from May.
- This is a decrease of 11,300 tan (62.61%) from June last year.
January to June Imports:
- Total imports of scrap stainless steel were 54,900 tan, down by 129,300 tan (70.20%) year-on-year.

Secara ringkasnya, while both imports and exports of stainless steel decreased in June, net exports increased, indicating a positive trend in China’s stainless steel trade balance.
