2B finish SS sheet refers to stainless steel sheet with a smooth, matte cold-rolled surface produced through a specific annealing and skin-pass process. Among all stainless steel finishes, 2B is the most common standard surface for industrial stainless steel sheets, especially for grades such as 201, 304, 316, Dan 430.

The 2B surface is widely used because it offers a clean appearance, stable flatness, and good performance for further fabrication such as bending, pengelasan, pemolesan, and coating.

What Is 2B Finish on Stainless Steel Sheet?

2B finish is a cold-rolled surface treatment defined by ASTM and EN standards. It is created through a combination of:

This process gives the stainless steel sheet a uniform gray-white appearance with moderate reflectivity, smoother than No.1 hot rolled finish but less reflective than BA finish.

How 2B Finish Is Produced

The production of 2B finish stainless steel sheet follows several key steps.

1. Penggulungan Dingin

The stainless steel coil is first reduced to the required thickness by cold rolling. This process improves dimensional accuracy and creates a relatively smooth surface.

Cold rolling also increases material hardness, so the sheet must be softened before final use.

2. Anil

Setelah dingin digulung, the sheet passes through an annealing furnace. The purpose is to restore ductility and remove internal stress caused by rolling.

The annealing process usually occurs at temperatures above:
