China's Net Stainless Steel Exports Increase in June-Teda Metal

В июне, China’s General Administration of Customs released statistics on the import and export of stainless steel and key raw materials. Notably, net exports of stainless steel increased, despite a decrease in both imports and exports on a month-to-month basis. Imports of scrap stainless steel also saw a decline.

Import Statistics

June Imports:
- Total stainless steel imports were 131,300 тонны, down by 43,100 тонны (24.72%) compared to May.
- Year-on-year, this represents an increase of 13,200 тонны (11.16%).
- Imports from Indonesia were 108,100 тонны, a decrease of 39,900 тонны (26.96%) from May, but an increase of 16,800 тонны (18.4%) compared to June last year.
January to June Imports:
- Total imports reached 1.1078 миллион тонн, up by 265,000 тонны (31.44%) year-on-year.
- Imports from Indonesia were 956,100 тонны, an increase of 313,400 тонны (48.76%).

Export Statistics

June Exports:
- Stainless steel exports stood at 452,800 тонны, a reduction of 4,900 тонны (1.06%) from May.
- This marks an increase of 109,500 тонны (31.89%) from June last year.
January to June Exports:
- Total exports amounted to 2.3648 миллион тонн, up by 325,900 тонны (15.99%) from the same period last year.

Net Export Figures

June Net Exports:
- Net exports reached 321,600 тонны, an increase of 38,400 тонны (13.56%) from May.
- This represents a year-on-year increase of 96,400 тонны (42.80%).
January to June Net Exports:
- Total net exports were 1.257 миллион тонн, an increase of 60,900 тонны (5.09%) from the same period last year.

Scrap Stainless Steel Imports

June Imports:
- Scrap stainless steel imports were 6,730 тонны, a decline of 3,300 тонны (33.01%) from May.
- This is a decrease of 11,300 тонны (62.61%) from June last year.
January to June Imports:
- Total imports of scrap stainless steel were 54,900 тонны, down by 129,300 тонны (70.20%) year-on-year.

В итоге, while both imports and exports of stainless steel decreased in June, net exports increased, indicating a positive trend in China’s stainless steel trade balance.
